This tool was introduced to me during a training on writing therapy.
Writing therapy is a good add-on to counselling, it is something that you can do in your own time and that can help you process stressful events or when there is too much to think about and hold in your mind.
Writing the labyrinth can help to deal with anxiety when faced with choices, but also by externalising the problem it can help to relieve some of the stress you might feel.
As I explain in the video below, you start at the entrance of the labyrinth and you write down what is in your mind focusing on a particular issue you are having. It could be that you have a decision to make but you are not sure what choice to make or maybe you are unsure how to deal with someone? It can work for any dilemna you might have.
The second stage is about writing out and finding a solution or just clarity about the choices you have in front of you and the positive and negative about it.
When you are finished, you might find it helpful to discuss the end result with someone or you might feel ready to make a decision.
